Little solace after the town meeting

I don't know how much the town meeting helped because people didn't receive the answers they were hoping for. Unfortunately, recent events are still an unsolved mystery, which isn't what the townspeople wanted to hear.

As expected, I was asked if current events were a sign of the end times. I do not think they are because they do not match the writings in Revelations. However, I won't rule out the work of Satan or other supernatural forces, although it is more likely that there is a logical, natural explanation for everything. In the end, though, I am as baffled as everyone else.

Fear abounds

A good portion of the town is afraid, so much so that the streets are empty after sunset. People are afraid to go anywhere alone, for fear they will become the next "victims" of whatever has befallen Patricia Kramer, Nancy Turner, and Dana Robertson.

I think it is time for the leaders of the town to meet with everyone and try to soothe their concerns as best we can.

A disturbing turn

The sheriff informed me that another citizen of Cherbeek Bay, Nancy Turner, has disappeared, apparently abducted by persons (or non-persons) unknown. As if that weren't distressing enough, a note was found at the scene proclaiming the end of the world. The writer of the note was none other than Patricia Kramer. Why would Patricia write such a thing, and what has happened to her since her disappearance? That is what the sheriff wanted to know, but unfortunately, I couldn't provide any answers for him. I have no reason to believe that Patricia would lie about such a thing, but I am both perplexed and a little afraid of what would cause her to not only believe that she has seen the end of the world coming, but to write a note to that effect.

Super Sunday

As it has happened every year, I didn't have the usual number of people attend service yesterday. No doubt, many of them were preparing for the Super Bowl. I don't blame them. At a time like this, when the town is on edge over recent events, anything fun that gives their minds and spirits a break is welcome.
